Engage@Turing Doctoral Showcase - Applied ML
The Engage@Turing initiative was set up following the cancellation of the 2020/21 Enrichment Scheme, to provide enrichment offer holders with the opportunity to access training and form connections with the Turing research network remotely. In order to help build connections with our community, the Engage@Turing students are organising a showcase on Friday 19 February with 2 sessions running in parallel at the following time: 10:30-11:30, 11:30-12:30, 13:30-14:30

Each student slot will last 10 min and will run in the following order (student name and research title):

Paul Rottger- Adapting Pretrained Language Models to Address Linguistic Challenges in Hate Speech Detection
Mike Smith - Using deep learning to speed up exploration of ultra-large scale astronomical datasets
William Finnegan - Education in the climate crisis: Energy smart schools in the UK
Alys Mcalpine - Complex labor migration systems and modern slavery: an agent-based model
Shunee Johnn -Food Supply Chain Network Design
