Engage@Turing Doctoral Showcase - Natural Sciences
The Engage@Turing initiative was set up following the cancellation of the 2020/21 Enrichment Scheme, to provide enrichment offer holders with the opportunity to access training and form connections with the Turing research network remotely. In order to help build connections with our community, the Engage@Turing students are organising a showcase on Friday 19 February with 2 sessions running in parallel at the following time: 10:30-11:30, 11:30-12:30, 13:30-14:30

Session 1a - 10:30 - 11:30 Natural Sciences (theme)

Each student slot will last 10 min and will run in the following order (student name and research title):

Ekaterina (Katya) Zossimova - Advanced Computational Electromagnetism for Nanophotonics and Biosensing
Matt Nixon - Assessment of Supervised Machine Learning for Atmospheric Retrieval of Exoplanets
Lorenzo Zanisi - Hunting anomalous galaxies with probabilistic generative models
James Fulton - Machine learning for climate simulation and understanding
Mohammad Noorbakhsh - Discovering Causal Factors of Drought in Ethiopia
Andrea Luppi - Modelling Information Dynamics of Consciousness in the Human Brain

Please note you are not required to attend the entire hour, and you can drop in for specific Q&As.
